It happened fast–but as of November 20th, our Life|ware application for the iPhone/iPod touch, which we demoed at CEDIA, is available in the iTunes App Store!

This application turns a Wi-Fi connected iPhone or iPod Touch into a Life|ware remote, letting you access music, control audio zones, and run Life|scenes! It requires Life|ware 2.0.4 or above and a Control Point license, but the application itself is FREE.
CEPro has a bit of description and a slideshow here.

Not a ton of news to report from EHX, except that the Life|ware booth in Demo Alley was very busy. AND we won “Most Entertaining Presentation”–no small accomplishment, really, because our presentation was also chock-full of interesting and useful information. CEPro had this to say:
Lifeware showed how quickly an installer can use its drag-and-drop software to set scenes, set room temperatures and access Media Center entertainment files as an end user would.

What with everything that’s been going on here in the past month (we just released Life|ware 2.0.4! We’re partnering with AVAD!) I have sadly neglected the blog. I’ll try to get some news up soon, but in the meantime–DID you see this?
Homeowner Offers Crestron System on Craigslist for $8,000
Basically, the homeowner feels that his system is much more than he needs. He knows that it can be configured to do much more than just distributing audio around his home (its current use) but he can’t program it, and he DOESN’T WANT TO PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO DO SO.
So he’s ripping out a $30,000 system, putting it up for sale for $8,000, and he’s going to put in a DIY system that he can program himself.
What’s the lesson here?
