EHX: It is AWESOME, Baby!
Posted March 9, 2007 by Pete
Hello, Everybody. Nice seeing you again.
Apologies for the lateness of my update. Get so busy during the trade show that sneaking away for a update has gotten increasingly difficult. Here are a couple of updates from the first two days of the show. To put it precisely, it’s been Awesome with a capital A, baby!
Thursday started out great. Life|ware sponsored the keynote address by Dick Vitale. He was energetic, compelling and funny. A great choice for the keynote. When he finished, he headed down into the crowd to shake hands and meet the integrators who had attended. Below, he chats with EI’s Mike Seamons before taking the stage:
After the speech, Dickie V and ESPN’s ‘the Schwab’ checked out Life|ware:
By the way, Dickie V says the Buckeyes have got “a real chance” to go all the way in the tournament this year.
From the opening bell though last call, the Life|ware booth was hopping. It’s only the second day and my voice is threatening to go out on me. The questions from the dealers have been intelligent, complex and exciting, reflective of an active intellectual engagement in a new way to do home automation. Below, folks line up to take a survey and score tickets to the Life|ware-sponsored Bruce Hornsby concert.
We run in-depth presentations in the Life|ware theater every 45 minutes. Below, Jason Leonardelli shows Life|ware running on a Samsung Q1 Ultra Mobile PC.
EI’s Jason Brown discusses Life|ware running via an XBox 360 – the ultimate Media Center Extender:
East Coast Sales Manager Matt Bolton shows a group the HP Touchsmart PC – a complete Media Center touch PC for the countertop. Interest in this piece has HP’s Doreen C pleased as can be.
Below: A message from the LG Dryer appears. EI’s Matt Schroeder loves this feature. Never gets old, he says. Talking dryer. Good times.
After a long day one, a tired group of 10 EI peeps headed west to Cocoa Beach to check out the launch of an Atlas V unmanned rocket carrying 6 satellites into space. First live launch viewing for almost our entire group. After the launch, we inexplicably went hat shopping, before winding up the night with giant slices of pizza. I am making none of that up, though I passed on the hat.
More to come from the show, folks. Stay tuned and good times.
